Bank Hall
Bank Hall dates back to the 17th Century and has subsequently been extended and altered when the Hall was re-built in 1608 by Harry or William Banastre, it is possible that the Barn was begun around this date, or in the middle of that century when the Clock Tower was added to the Hall. Now, unfortunately derelict but used as a venue for outdoor theatres, social events and a backdrop for the Secret Knot Society!
Various dates appear on bricks around the barn indicating later additions or alterations. The room above the carriage shed was used as a billet during World War II.
Now a new lease of life has been injected into this imposing detached South facing Grade II listed brick barn which is situated in a superb private park setting on the approach to the historic Bank Hall. The architects drawings were originally prepared in April 1997 when the external staircase was still standing and now the conversion has been completed to eight units comprising of two apartments and six mews style houses.
The Barn is ideally placed just off the A59 between Liverpool (approximately 20 miles), Preston (approximately 8 miles), Southport (approximately 9 miles) and Junction 27 – M6 (approximately 10 miles).
