Heapy & White Coppice have few facilities to offer, you would have to travel into Chorley for any shopping which isn't far off (1 mile). They are very clean areas, we only had to stop the car for 2 minutes to take photographs before a man with very tight shorts on a bike came past and asked if we had dropped any rubbish. White Coppice was awarded in 1996 with the best kept hamlet award.

Also in this area is the old ROF factory, which now stands in ruin. According to some, the factory is being used in secrecy to store steam trains for in the event of thermonuclear war. There is quite an interesting website on this subject which can be found here.

As you can imagine this is area is very popular with ramblers, bikers, joggers, horse riders (there is an equestrian centre here), and those who appreciate the natural outdoors. The roads can be quite narrow in places, and chances are you will find yourself behind either a tractor or a convoy of horses.
